A scout droid for the Empire
The Probe Droid is a new Droid Trooper unit for the Empire. The publisher describes it through its keywords:
- Detachment - it does not count against your Special Forces limit and lets you time activations of units like Death Troopers or Scout Troopers better.
- Infiltrate - it moves ahead of your main force and deploys quickly to Point-of-Interest tokens.
- Hover: Air 1 - despite Speed 1 it crosses difficult terrain and reaches high ground and flanks with ease.
- Observe 3 - a free action that marks enemy units for follow-up attacks.
- Self-Destruct 3 - with two or more wounds it can detonate, rolling 3 black attack dice against every unit within range 1, friend or foe.
A light blaster covers self-defence, and Disengage helps it withdraw from combat.
What to combine them with
Special Forces gain the most from it, for example Imperial Death Troopers. Commanders who can exploit marked targets come in Imperial High Command.
