A binder marking thirty years of Pokémon, sold together with five booster packs - you start the collection and already have somewhere to keep it.

The binder. Nine pockets per page, so eighteen cards per sheet if you fill both sides. The pockets load from the side - a card will not slide out when the binder stands upright on a shelf, which top-loading pages do painfully often. The cover is white, patterned with Pikachu silhouettes and a large "30", so on a shelf it reads as an anniversary piece rather than another black folder.
The boosters. A 30th Celebration booster is foil from end to end - all five cards, including the Basic Energy designed by YOSHIROTTEN. Every pack guarantees a Pikachu card, and the publisher made thirty of them, each in a different style by a different artist. Five packs means five different Pikachu to start with.
The set works as a first step into the expansion: the binder organises whatever you pull instead of leaving cards loose in the wrapper. It also makes a clean gift - complete in itself, with nothing else to buy before it is useful.
