The Witcher: Path of Destiny - Legendary Monsters (Wiedźmin: Ścieżka Przeznaczenia - Legendarne potwory) is a cooperative expansion. Instead of competing to become the hero of the story, players hunt one of four legendary monsters together, supported by the witchers Lambert and Eskel. You need the Path of Destiny base game to play.

Four legendary monsters

You can face the ancient leshen, the hym, the katakan or the aguara. Each fights differently, with its own attacks, movement and abilities, so each calls for different tactics. Monster cards have sides matched to player count, and runestone cards let you tune the difficulty.

How the co-op works

The game uses the base rules, but victory points turn into damage dealt to the monster. The goal is to bring its stamina to zero before the game ends. Each player has life tokens, and if anyone loses their last one, everyone loses, so you have to protect the weakest. Trail cards reward experience when you meet their condition and make you roll the monster die when you fail. Lambert and Eskel join as companion cards with their own effects. Jaskier does not take part in this mode.

Old World bonus and other expansions

The box also contains 4 legendary monster cards for the Witcher: Old World - Legendary Hunt expansion, handy if you play both games. Legendary Monsters itself does not combine with other Path of Destiny expansions.
