Wiedźmin: Stary Świat - Edycja deluxe

The Witcher: Old World Deluxe Edition (Wiedźmin: Stary Świat - Edycja deluxe) is the complete board game in the Polish edition by Rebel, with everything from the standard version plus a set of 28 monster miniatures. Instead of flat tokens, the griffin, leshen, bruxa, harpy, ghoul and the rest of the beasts the witchers hunt stand on the map of the Continent.

Deluxe or standard: the difference

Rules, cards and board are identical. The difference is the monster miniatures: in the standard edition monsters are tokens on the map and only the players' witchers are miniatures. Go deluxe if table presence matters to you. If you only care about the gameplay, the standard edition is the same game.

About the game: witchers before the saga

The story is set long before Geralt of Rivia. Each player picks one of five witcher schools: Wolf, Cat, Griffin, Bear or Viper, each with its own special ability. Your witcher travels the Continent by discarding cards to move through terrain and plays them in combat as attacks, dodges and Signs. The first to earn 4 trophies wins: from slain monsters, duels with other witchers or an attribute raised to level V.

Your deck grows with every card you buy and you can remove weaker ones, so after a few turns every witcher fights differently. Along the way there are exploration cards with story choices, potions and dice poker for gold.

Expansions and their miniatures

The deluxe edition works with every expansion just like the standard one. Some expansions have miniatures too: Legendary Hunt brings 7 large monsters and Wild Hunt adds riders and hounds for the cooperative mode.
