Wilds Unknown: a trek through the wilds and Pixar's debut

After the thaw that ended Winterspell, Lorcana's glimmers are scattered to far-off places: the Wilderknot, the Great Empty Sea and Torchlight Peaks. The set's tagline is "Stick Together!" and its cards follow the journey back home.

Three films join the game for the first time:

• Toy Story - including Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, an Alien and Babyhead, leader of Sid's toys
• The Incredibles - Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible, Dash, Jack-Jack, Frozone and Syndrome
• Brave - Merida and her family: Elinor, Fergus and the triplets Hamish, Hubert and Harris

You will also find the Madrigals from Encanto (Luisa, Isabela, Bruno, Pepa) and Milo and Kida from Atlantis: The Lost Empire.

Toy and Monster classifications and the Iconic cards

Wilds Unknown adds no new keyword. Instead it brings two character classifications: Toy and Monster. Toys come with a whole synergy package: Jessie - Lively Cowgirl, for example, lets you draw a card when she quests if you have two or more other Toy characters in play.

The set has 204 main cards plus 38 special-rarity cards: 18 Epic, 18 Enchanted and 2 Iconic. The Iconics are Merida - Formidable Archer and Buzz Lightyear - Jungle Ranger, drawn in the Art Nouveau-inspired style Ravensburger calls Lore Nouveau.

What a full booster box is good for

A deck built around one classification needs copies, and 24 packs give you far more of them than a handful of singles. It is also a good batch for opening with friends: the Wilds Unknown prerelease kit has 6 packs, so one box makes four such sealed pools.

Wilds Unknown is one of the sets legal in Core in the rotation that started with Attack of the Vine!, so its cards go straight into current tournament decks.

Booster box, booster pack or live break

Single Wilds Unknown booster packs are enough to try the set. If you want to watch the whole box opened on stream and get your cards sorted, go for the Wilds Unknown booster box live break.
