Black Prime playmat: the classic for any deck
Black is the most neutral colour in the Prime range. It clashes with no artwork and gives nothing away about what you play, which is why many players pick it as their first mat. It suits black decks in Magic: The Gathering, the Villainy aspect in Star Wars: Unlimited and black decks in the One Piece Card Game. Cards in light or brightly coloured sleeves stand out best on the dark surface.
How the Prime playmat protects your cards
Two millimetres of natural rubber keep your cards off the table: away from dirt, crumbs and scratches. The surface is very fine, so sleeved cards glide across it and are easy to pick up. The rubber back keeps the mat in place even on a slick table, and the producer points out that the soft surface is comfortable for rolling dice.
A mat is the first layer of protection. The second is sleeves and a deck box, and our card protection guide explains how to choose them.
Storage and transport
Do not fold a rubber mat, the creases stay. Rolled along its short side (350 mm), it fits the black Gamegenic playmat tube, which is 385 mm long and 75 mm across. The mat ships in a window cardboard box.
