Amber and Amethyst
The publisher describes Amber glimmers as patient and dedicated: leaders, healers, bodyguards and loyal followers who work within communities. Amethyst is the ink of sorcerers, sages and animated objects that act through special powers. In a set full of Jafar's sorcerous schemes, this pair is a good way to see how magic works in Lorcana.
About Reign of Jafar
Lorcana's eighth set opens with Jafar reforging the Hexwell Crown and proclaiming himself Supreme Sorcerer. Dual-ink cards return, belonging to two inks and fitting only decks with both, and the new Illusions are characters with the Vanish keyword that disappear when an opponent chooses them for an action. The publisher announced 200+ cards to collect.
Who it is for
New players who want to play as soon as the box is open, and Infinity players, where every set is legal (Reign of Jafar is no longer in Core). With the Ruby and Steel starter deck you can play a full two-player game, and in co-op you can face Jafar in Illumineer's Quest: Palace Heist.
Disney Lorcana in brief
It is a trading card game from Ravensburger. A deck has at least 60 cards in one or two of six ink colours. You put inkable cards into your inkwell, spend that ink on Disney characters and send them questing, and the first player to 20 lore wins.
