Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn - starter deck A (Amber/Sapphire)

The Rise of the Floodborn starter deck in Amber and Sapphire is a ready-to-play 60-card Disney Lorcana deck from the game's second set. The box also holds a 12-card booster pack, so you can play straight away and already have a few cards to swap into the deck.

What's in the starter deck

• a ready-to-play 60-card deck, including 2 foil cards of the characters on the front of the box
• 1 booster pack of 12 random cards
• 11 game tokens
• a quick start rulebook

Cards are in English. The two foils are the characters pictured on the box, and the deck uses two ink colours, just like any tournament deck in Lorcana.

Amber and Sapphire in play

Lorcana has six ink colours and a deck plays two of them. The publisher describes Amber glimmers as patient and dedicated: leaders, healers, bodyguards and loyal followers who work within communities. Sapphire is the ink of intellect: strategists, inventors and artists who can almost always plan something that wins the day. It is a good deck for learning how the inkwell and questing for lore work.

Rise of the Floodborn: characters transformed by ink

In Lorcana's second set an explosion in the Great Illuminary sends out a flood of magical ink that transforms the glimmers of familiar characters. These new, stronger versions are the Floodborn. They usually have Shift: instead of paying full cost, you play the card on top of your character with the same name and pay the lower Shift cost. The set also added the Resist keyword, which reduces damage dealt to a character.

Rise of the Floodborn has 204 main cards and 12 Enchanted cards. Pinocchio, The Jungle Book and The Great Mouse Detective made their Lorcana debut here.

Who this deck is for

For anyone who wants to play a first game without building a deck, and for Infinity players, where every set is legal. Rise of the Floodborn is no longer part of Core. The set's other deck is the Amethyst and Steel starter deck: two starter decks give you everything for a two-player game.

How Disney Lorcana plays

Lorcana is Ravensburger's trading card game with Disney characters. Cards with the inkwell symbol can go into your inkwell as ink, which you spend on characters, songs and items. You send characters questing for lore or challenge your opponent's characters, and the first to 20 lore wins.
