How Amethyst and Steel play
Amethyst is Lorcana's ink of sorcerers, sages and animated objects, characters who reach their goals with special powers. Steel is strength: large, armoured or just plain powerful characters who solve problems with brute force. Together they make a deck where challenges between characters matter as much as questing for lore.
What Rise of the Floodborn brought
The set's story starts with a flood of magical ink after an explosion in the Great Illuminary. The ink turns familiar characters into Floodborn, stronger versions usually played with Shift: on top of a character with the same name, for a lower cost. The new keyword is Resist, which lets a character shrug off part of the damage.
The set has 204 main cards and 12 Enchanted. Characters from Pinocchio, The Jungle Book and The Great Mouse Detective appeared in Lorcana for the first time here.
Who it is for
Beginners who want to play right away and Infinity players, where cards from every set are allowed (the set is no longer legal in Core). Together with the Amber and Sapphire starter deck it makes a set for two players.
Disney Lorcana in brief
It is a trading card game from Ravensburger. A deck has at least 60 cards in one or two of six ink colours. You put inkable cards into your inkwell, spend that ink on Disney characters and send them questing, and the first player to 20 lore wins.
