What's in the Marvel Super Heroes Beginner Box

• 10 themed Jumpstart half-decks of 20 cards
• 5 double-sided tokens
• 2 gameboard playmats
• 2 How to Play guides
• 2 reference cards
• 2 spindown dice for tracking life
• 1 reference guide booklet

Basic lands in the box use City Calm and City Chaos art (non-foil).

How the first game works

Two half-decks come stacked in a fixed order for the tutorial: a white one with Captain America and a red one with Iron Man. You don't shuffle them; you play the cards in order (each is numbered 1 to 20 in the bottom-left corner) and follow the How to Play guide step by step. That way you learn the basics while playing your first game.

After the tutorial, pick any two half-decks, shuffle them together and play with a 40-card deck. 10 half-decks give you plenty of pairings, so games don't repeat.

Deck themes and Marvel heroes

Each color of Magic has two half-decks with different themes:

• white: Heroes (Peggy Carter, Hawkeye, Okoye) and the Captain America tutorial (Ant-Man, Wasp, Falcon, Winter Soldier)
• blue: Artifacts (War Machine, Ultron Drone) and Card Draw (Blue Marvel, Graviton)
• black: HYDRA (Arnim Zola, Madame Hydra) and Villains (Baron Strucker, Crossbones, Tombstone)
• red: the Iron Man tutorial (Hulk, Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, Quicksilver) and Young Avengers (Wiccan, Patriot, She-Hulk)
• green: Counters (The Thing, Beast) and Ramp (Moon-Boy, Gert and Old Lace)
