The model comes unpainted and unassembled, in plastic on sprues.
The Immortal: a frontline anchor
The Immortal descends from the old Dragoons: crippled veteran Templar fight inside its walking war suit. In the game it is a big unit (Size 3) with a 4+ armour save and two defensive abilities:
- Improved Barrier - a reaction to incoming fire: while the Immortal is Shielded, an attack deals it at most 1 damage, however strong the weapon.
- Shield Overcharge - grants TOUGH (2), turning up to two failed defence rolls into successes.
It carries two Photon Disruptors that fire in the same attack sequence, with Surge against Armoured targets such as Siege Tanks or Ravagers. The Fury Unyielding upgrade grants critical hits when the Immortal and its target are near an objective marker, making it excellent at holding objectives.
What to combine it with
To get the Immortal where the fight is faster, the publisher suggests supporting it with the Warp Prism tactical card or the Pylon from the Artanis & Pylon set, so it can contest objectives from turn 2. It rounds out an army from the Protoss Starter Set.
About the game
StarCraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game is Archon Studio's miniatures wargame, licensed by Blizzard. Players alternate unit activations, armies arrive from reserve as Supply allows, Minerals buy units and Vespene Gas buys tactical cards. A starter with a 1000-mineral army is enough to begin, and expansions like this one let you grow it and vary your lists.
