StarCraft: Zagara - Zerg - Expansion Set

The Zagara - Zerg - Expansion Set is a hero add-on for StarCraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game. Zagara, the first of the broodmothers, rose to become one of Kerrigan's most trusted lieutenants and eventually the Swarm's leader. The box holds Zagara, her living artillery the Bile Launcher, tokens and 7 cards, including a faction card that turns your army into an unstoppable horde.

The broodmother: strength in numbers

Kerrigan focuses on psionic devastation, Zagara on sheer numbers. She is a queen with many of the Queen unit's abilities, plus her own:

• Broodmother - once per round, give a bonus to all your units of a chosen size, such as better impact rolls for size-one units or TOUGH (1) for size-three units.
• Infested Drop - once per round, Zagara's base acts as an entry edge, so a new unit lands right on the front line.

The Zagara's Swarm faction card rewards mass: a unit that outnumbers the enemy it's engaged with gets better close combat attacks, and when attacked in melee it can make an evade roll. The Reactive Tissue Creep card gives units standing on creep DODGE (1) against all incoming attacks.

Bile Launcher: artillery that holds objectives

The Bile Launcher is a biological structure you place within 18" of your entry edge. Its Bombard ability reaches almost anywhere on the table without line of sight, deals heavy damage to armoured targets and leaves a creep tumour behind. You have to place a marker in the Movement Phase, so your opponent gets time to react. It's also the first structure in the game that can hold objective markers.

An army for Zagara

Zagara needs numbers, and numbers mean Zerglings. The Vilelings card uses Zergling miniatures, so the Zergling Expansion Set is the natural companion. For your core army, start with the Zerg Starter Set and its 18 Zerglings.

Are Zagara and Kerrigan the same thing?
No. Both are Zerg heroes, but Kerrigan relies on one powerful character and Zagara on the size of the Swarm.

The set has no rules or dice, and Zagara needs an army. The rules are free on the publisher's website, and the Zerg starter gives you a Swarm to begin with.
