Jim Raynor: marshal, rebel, leader of the Raiders

He's been called a marshal, a freedom fighter and a terrorist. Raynor leads his Raiders in the fight for a better future for the Koprulu Sector, and in the game he does what a good commander should: he speeds up your army.

His Orders active ability removes the activation marker from a unit that has already acted and lets it activate again. In a game of alternating activations, an extra move for a Marine squad can decide who takes an objective, or whether your Siege Tank gets a spotter close to its target. The publisher shows exactly that manoeuvre in its Siege Tank article.

Who Raynor plays with

Raynor boosts units, so he gets the most out of a large infantry force. Natural partners are Marines and the rest of the Terran Starter Set, and in bigger battles a Siege Tank whose targets his orders help set up.

StarCraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game

Archon Studio's officially licensed wargame. Raynor was one of the faces of the first wave of releases, alongside Kerrigan and Artanis. Units enter play from reserves, and alternating activations set the pace.

Frequently asked questions

How many miniatures are in the set?
Two: Jim Raynor and the Point Defense Drone, plus 7 cards.

Is Raynor enough to play?
He's a leader, not a whole army. You need Terran units, most easily from the starter, and the rules, which the publisher offers for free.

Do the miniatures need gluing?
Yes, they come on sprues. Painting is optional.

How much space and time does a game take?
The small format plays on a 36" x 36" table in about an hour, the standard one on 54" x 36" in about two hours, once both players know the rules.

What language are the cards?
English.
