• Artanis and a Pylon

• Rules Reference and assembly manual

The miniatures are 32 mm scale plastic, supplied on sprues and unpainted. They need assembly; painting is optional.

A 1000-mineral Protoss army

The rulebook lists an army built from this starter at exactly 1000 minerals: the Khalai faction with a Zealot unit, a Praetor Guard unit (a Zealot variant), 4 Adepts, 2 Sentries and Artanis. Unit roles:

• Zealot - the backbone of the Protoss military, melee warriors
• Adept - fast specialists against lightly armoured targets, able to psionically transfer
• Sentry - support: the guardian shield protects against ranged attacks and Force Fields can block off a path
• Artanis - leader of the Daelaam and your army's hero
• Pylon - a summoned unit: no mineral cost and no army slot

Founders Edition vs the regular Protoss Starter Set

Founders Edition is the first release of the starter, made in a single print run and marked with an edition tag. The later Protoss Starter Set has a different line-up: two Stalkers instead of Artanis and the Pylon, 19 cards and no dice. Pick Founders Edition if you want to start with a hero, the regular starter if you prefer Stalkers.

Who to play and how to expand

The starter holds one army, so your opponent needs their own, for example from the Two Player Starter Set - Founders Edition with Terran and Zerg. Expand your army with Stalkers or an Immortal.

StarCraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game in brief

A miniatures wargame officially licensed by Blizzard. Players alternate unit activations, armies arrive from reserve as Supply allows, and Minerals buy units while Vespene Gas buys tactical cards.
