StarCraft: Ravager - Zerg - Expansion Set

The Ravager - Zerg - Expansion Set is an add-on for StarCraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game with two Ravagers, the Swarm's living artillery. The Ravager is a Roach whose genome was twisted far beyond its biological limits: it stands two to four times as tall as a Terran in CMC armour and uses plasma fire to crack open entrenched positions.

Corrosive Bile: an attack you have to run from

In the Movement Phase you spend biomass, and each Ravager in the unit places a Corrosive Bile token, further out than a Hydralisk's spines reach (12"). The bile doesn't land at once: it hangs over the battlefield and hits everything in its radius at the end of the Assault Phase.

That leaves your opponent with a bad choice. Spend an activation to run and step into, say, Hydralisk fire, or stay and take the hits. And if you lock them in close combat with Zerglings meanwhile, they can't run at all. During army building you can buy mutations such as Potent Bile, which makes hit units worse at armour rolls.

What to play Ravagers with

The publisher suggests fielding them behind a front line of cheaper units that keep the enemy in place. The Zergling Expansion Set and Roach Expansion Set do that job well. For your core army, start with the Zerg Starter Set.
