Star Wars Unlimited: Homeworlds - Booster Display (24)
Add these to your order
The Homeworlds booster display for Star Wars: Unlimited holds 24 sealed booster packs of 16 cards, 384 cards in total from the game's ninth set. Every pack has a leader, a rare or legendary and a Hyperspace foil, so one box gives you 24 leaders, 24 rares or legendaries and 24 Hyperspace foils.
- 24 packs, 384 English-language cards
- the set has 272 cards, including 18 leaders and 16 bases
- the new Fortify keyword plus Beast and Weakness tokens
What's in the Homeworlds booster display
- 24 individually wrapped Homeworlds booster packs
- 16 cards per pack: 9 commons, 3 uncommons, 1 rare or legendary, 1 leader, 1 base or token and 1 Hyperspace foil
- in total 216 commons, 72 uncommons, 24 rares or legendaries, 24 leaders, 24 bases or tokens and 24 Hyperspace foils
Starting with A Lawless Time the publisher changed what goes into packs: standard foils are gone, and the foil slot is always a Hyperspace foil. Every pack also has at least one Hyperspace card, and roughly one pack in 18 holds a non-foil Prestige card. A display therefore gives you 24 Hyperspace foils and at least 24 Hyperspace cards, while a Prestige card works out to about one per box on average, with no guarantee.
Homeworlds: alien worlds and invading armies
Homeworlds takes Star Wars: Unlimited down to the surface of the planets. The set has 272 cards and focuses on the galaxy's alien cultures and the armies that invade them. All 16 bases are commons, four for each of four planets. The planet trait matters in deckbuilding, because plenty of cards in the set check for a specific base: Adamant Ewoks, for example, deal extra damage when you play them with an Endor base.
- Tatooine - Mos Eisley, Dune Sea, Jundland Wastes, Tusken Camp
- Naboo - Theed Palace, Otoh Gunga, Great Grass Plains, Bioweapons Lab
- Endor - Bright Tree Village, Shield Generator Complex, Dendroid Wilds, Research Station 9
- Kashyyyk - Kachirho, Origin Tree, Shadowlands, Kyyyalstaad Swamp
The set's leaders are split evenly between common and rare, eight each. The commons include Wicket, Jar Jar Binks, Tarfful, Bossk and General Grievous; the rares include Darth Vader, Darth Sidious, Maul, Asajj Ventress, Maz Kanata and Omega. Every leader also has a Showcase variant. The 20 legendaries include Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn, Dooku, Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, along with monsters such as the Giant Gorax, the Sando Aqua Monster and the Ritual Dragon. According to the publisher, Homeworlds has more Creature units than any set before it, and characters from The Acolyte and The Bad Batch play a bigger role than ever.
Three new mechanics:
- Fortify - an upgrade you attach to your base instead of a unit, a first for the game. Alliance Shield Generator, for instance, prevents one hit of 5 or more damage to your base.
- Beast token - a 3/3 unit, the largest token in the game. In exchange, the cards that create it are costlier or harder to use.
- Weakness token - the inverse of the Experience token: it gives an enemy unit -1/-1, and enough of them can defeat it outright.
What a full display is good for
24 packs is exactly a draft for eight players at three packs each, or four sealed pools of six packs. One box is enough to put together your first decks without buying singles.
Displays are also the pick for collectors who want to open the whole set and chase Hyperspace, Showcase and Prestige variants, and for groups who split a box at a meetup or on stream.
Pack, display or Carbonite
Single Homeworlds booster packs are enough to try the set. For one player's sealed pool there is the Prerelease Box with six packs, counters and a deck box. The Carbonite display is a separate collector line: 12 packs where every card is a variant and each pack has a Prestige card. For drafting and deckbuilding the regular display is the better fit.
Star Wars: Unlimited at a glance
A two-player trading card game from Fantasy Flight Games. Each player has a leader, a base and a deck of at least 50 cards, and the fight runs in two arenas at once, space and ground. The first player to destroy the opposing base wins.
