Star Wars Unlimited: Homeworlds - Prerelease Box
Add these to your order
The Homeworlds Prerelease Box for Star Wars: Unlimited is a one-player kit for a Prerelease event: six booster packs from the game's ninth set, two leader variants you can only get in this box, and every accessory you need to build a sealed deck and play it at the table.
- 6 Homeworlds booster packs of 16 cards, English-language cards
- 2 Prerelease variant cards: the Chewbacca and Grand Moff Tarkin leaders
- 19 counters, a deckbuilding guide, a divider card and a deluxe deck box
What's in the Homeworlds Prerelease Box
- 6 Homeworlds booster packs
- 2 Prerelease Variant cards: Chewbacca and Grand Moff Tarkin in versions exclusive to this product
- 19 counters
- 1 deckbuilding guide
- 1 divider card
- 1 deluxe deck box
Each pack holds 9 commons, 3 uncommons, 1 rare or legendary, 1 leader, 1 base or token and 1 Hyperspace foil, with at least one Hyperspace card. Six packs give you 96 cards: 54 commons, 18 uncommons, 6 rares or legendaries, 6 leaders, 6 bases or tokens and 6 Hyperspace foils. That is the pool you build your sealed deck from.
The two Prerelease variant leaders
Chewbacca and Grand Moff Tarkin also lead the set's pre-built Spotlight Decks, and the Prerelease Box gives you versions of them that no other product has.
- Chewbacca (Command, Heroism) - for 2 resources he lets a unit attack even while exhausted, though not the enemy base. His deck is all offense and cheap units such as Ewoks.
- Grand Moff Tarkin (Vigilance, Villainy) - lets you play Fortify upgrades without aspect penalties. At 9 resources he deploys as the Death Star, which can defeat a base with 10 or less remaining HP.
How sealed works with the Prerelease Box
At a Prerelease event every player opens their own box on site and builds a deck from whatever the six packs contain. You pick your leader from the six you opened and build the rest of the deck around its aspects. The guide in the box walks you through it, and the counters cover a full game without extra accessories.
In Homeworlds it pays to check which planet your base belongs to. Plenty of cards get stronger with a specific planet base: Torrent gives two Weakness tokens instead of one if you control a Naboo base, Sandstorm costs less with a Tatooine base, and Adamant Ewoks deal damage when played if you have an Endor base or another Ewok.
The box also works away from the store: two people with two kits can play sealed at home, and the deluxe deck box stays with you for your deck afterwards.
Homeworlds: Fortify, Beast and Weakness
Homeworlds is 272 cards about the galaxy's planets, their people and the armies that invade them. The bases carry the traits of Tatooine, Naboo, Endor and Kashyyyk. When building a sealed deck, three new features are worth knowing:
- Fortify - an upgrade you attach to your base instead of a unit. A first for the game.
- Beast - a 3/3 unit token, the largest token in the game, harder to create in return.
- Weakness - a token that works as the inverse of Experience: it gives an enemy unit -1/-1.
Prerelease Box or display
The Prerelease Box is six packs plus extras for one person. If you are collecting the set or running a draft, the Homeworlds booster display with 24 packs is the better pick, which is four sealed pools or a draft for eight. Single Homeworlds booster packs top up a pool, and for card variants alone there is the separate Carbonite line.
