Star Wars Unlimited: Homeworlds - Carbonite Booster Display (12)
Add these to your order
The Homeworlds Carbonite Booster Display for Star Wars: Unlimited holds 12 Carbonite Edition booster packs of 16 cards from the game's ninth set, 192 cards in total. It is the collector line: a regular pack guarantees two variants (a Hyperspace and a Hyperspace foil), while in a Carbonite pack all 16 cards carry a special treatment and one of them is a Prestige card.
- 12 Carbonite Edition packs, 192 English-language cards
- a guaranteed Prestige card in every pack, 12 per display
- a Hyperspace or Showcase leader in every pack
- a single print wave, with no reprint planned by the publisher
What's in the Homeworlds Carbonite display
- 12 individually wrapped Carbonite Edition booster packs
- 16 cards per pack: 1 Hyperspace or Showcase leader, 1 Prestige card, and the other 14 are Hyperspace and Hyperspace foil cards
- in total 12 Hyperspace or Showcase leaders and 12 Prestige cards
Since A Lawless Time, Carbonite packs no longer contain standard foils. The publisher replaced them with extra Hyperspace and Hyperspace foil cards, and at the same time cut the rate of Showcase leaders in Carbonite significantly so they stay rare.
Prestige cards in Homeworlds
Prestige is a version of a card with new art and its own graphic design. In Homeworlds 48 cards have one, and each comes in three tiers:
- Prestige - the alternate art and design. You can also find this version in a regular pack, roughly once every 18 packs.
- Prestige foil - the same card with Prestige-exclusive foiling, Carbonite only.
- Serialized Prestige - foiled and serial-numbered, Carbonite only. Usually 250 copies per card, with selected cards limited to 100 or 50.
Homeworlds Prestige cards include Luke Skywalker, Queen Amidala, Maul, Emperor Palpatine, Mother Talzin, Saw Gerrera, Boss Nass and Krrsantan, plus monsters such as the Greater Sarlacc, the Dathomiri Rancor and the Clone of the Zillo Beast. From Endor, Chief Chirpa, Teebo and Logray get Prestige versions, and from The Acolyte so do Mae, Qimir, Vernestra Rwoh, Sol and Yord Fandar. The list also covers some legendaries, such as Qui-Gon Jinn, the Third Sister and The Great Progenitor.
How Carbonite differs from a regular display
- Variants only - a regular pack guarantees one Hyperspace foil and at least one Hyperspace card, while in Carbonite every one of the 16 cards is a variant.
- Prestige in every pack - a rare pull in regular packs, a certainty in Carbonite, and the foil and serialized tiers exist only here.
- The same playable cards - the publisher has said no mechanically unique card will ever be exclusive to Carbonite. These are variants of Homeworlds cards, so you do not need Carbonite to play.
- One print run - each set gets a single wave of Carbonite packs, and they will not be reprinted.
Homeworlds in premium versions
Homeworlds is 272 cards about the galaxy's planets, their people and the armies that invade them. Every card in the set has a Hyperspace version, and each of the 18 leaders also has a Showcase version: from Darth Vader, Darth Sidious and Maul to Wicket, Jar Jar Binks and Omega. The bases take the game to Tatooine, Naboo, Endor and Kashyyyk. The set introduces the Fortify keyword (base upgrades) and the Beast (a 3/3 unit) and Weakness (-1/-1 for an enemy unit) tokens.
Carbonite or regular packs
You buy a Carbonite display for the variants and Prestige cards, not for drafting: 12 packs are not enough for an eight-player pod. For limited play and deckbuilding the Homeworlds booster display with 24 packs is the better choice. If you want to see what Carbonite looks like first, there is also a single Carbonite pack.
