StarCraft: Lost Temple Ramp - Terrain Expansion Set is a terrain piece for StarCraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game: high ground with a ramp that connects different levels of the battlefield. It is part of the iconic Lost Temple map, where taking the high ground and holding a narrow ramp decided many a game.
What's in the Lost Temple Ramp set
- 1 Lost Temple Ramp terrain piece (high ground with a ramp), plastic
- assembly manual
The piece comes unpainted and needs assembly. 32 mm scale. There is no playmat or other terrain in the box.
High ground in the StarCraft TMG rules
Terrain has height in this game, and high ground brings real benefits:
- Better sight lines - a model's effective size on high ground is its size plus the terrain's, so shooters see over walls that would block them below.
- High Ground Cover - a unit standing wholly on high ground gets an Evade roll against ranged attacks from a lower elevation.
- Dead zone - a unit hugging the foot of the same piece can be hidden from above.
The ramp is the way up onto the high ground, so the hill becomes a real fight: the defender shoots down while the attacker has to assault uphill.
What to combine it with
The ramp works best with the Lost Temple - Terrain set, which has 15 terrain pieces and a playmat. Ranged units gain the most from high ground, such as the Siege Tank or the Stalker.
